At UWC Mostar, students receive comprehensive support in the University application process. Students are guided, supported, and encouraged to follow their passions and seek the opportunities which are compatible with their interests and which will allow them to reach their full potential. Students are supported in selecting appropriate IB subjects, in researching the range of universities and colleges accessible to them, and learning about admissions and financial aid process. In addition the University Guidance counselor, one of our English Literature teachers typically helps students specifically with writing personal statements.
Nearly 100% of UWC Mostar graduates choose to attend institutions of higher education all around the world, either directly after UWC or after a “gap year.” Our students are privileged to have several designated UWC scholarship opportunities available to them. These include: the Shelby Davis-UWC Scholarship Program, which funds admitted UWC graduates to study at 90 designated colleges and universities across the United States; several UWC-specific scholarship opportunities at Canadian universities such as Quest, Simon Fraser, Trent, York, U. Toronto, and U. Victoria; and UWC scholarships at King's College and University College London.
UWC Mostar hosts around 40 University representative visits through the year, mostly from the USA and Europe, and one College fair. These visits help our students to learn more about the application process, writing essays, scholarships and other opportunities, and to connect with students and teachers at the places that are interesting for them.
Our University Counselor is Marjana Tomaš. She has been with UWC Mostar since 2007, and is the recipient of the 2015 Yale Educator Award!
