Residential life

Unlike many other UWC schools, UWC Mostar does not have a single, enclosed campus — Mostar itself is our campus. Our students live across the city, in five different residences, each offering a unique experience while embodying the same spirit of community and intercultural exchange.

Students live in shared rooms with one to three peers from different nationalities, ethnicities, and backgrounds — encouraging meaningful connection, understanding, and friendship across cultures. Each residence is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming home, fostering shared living and learning.

MEJDAN RESIDENCE

Opened in 2014, Mejdan is the first residence owned by UWC Mostar. It’s located on the eastern side of the city, near the iconic Old Bridge. With a cozy community of just 27 students, Mejdan is about a 10-minute walk from the school.

ŠANTIĆ RESIDENCE

Inaugurated in the 2020/2021 academic year, Šantić is just a short walk from the school. It features student rooms, housefellow apartments, common and study spaces, and even a gym. Šantić is also proud to be the first Eco-certified building in Mostar, earning international recognition for its sustainable design.

PELLEGRINO RESIDENCE

Since the 2022/2023 academic year, Pellegrino has been home to around 40 students. Situated in the eastern part of Mostar, it is about an 8-minute walk from school and offers a balanced mix of comfort and community.

POLONIA RESIDENCE

Also opened in 2022/2023, Polonia is located on the western side of the city and houses approximately 40 students. The residence is about a 15-minute walk from the school, allowing students to experience another vibrant part of Mostar.

NOVI SUŠAC RESIDENCE

Novi Sušac has been the UWC Mostar residence since the 2021/2022 academic year. It is located in the western part of town, generally houses around 30 students, and is about a 10‑minute walk from the school.
