We are delighted to collaborate with Gimnazija Mostar and ALG Loyola Gymnasium from Prizren, through the RYCO Superschools project Peacebuilders 2.0. Students from UWC Mostar, Gimnazija Mostar, and ALG Loyola Gymnasium came together to explore meaningful topics such as peacebuilding, tolerance, and life without prejudice - an enriching experience for everyone involved.

Proud of our alumni and their inspiring journeys beyond UWC!Asim and Hana Kalčo, siblings from Zenica, BiH and UWC Alumni, are making remarkable strides in the academic world!Asim, an alum of UWC Mostar, has been accepted into the Ph.D. program at the prestigious Stanford University, making him only the second Bosnian to achieve this honour. His sister, Hana, an alumna of UWC Adriatic, is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Boston University.Their achievements exemplify the global potential and perseverance of young individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina and we at UWC are proud of them!

Last week we also welcomed Nørre Nissum Efterskole to UWC Mostar!During their visit, they had the chance to attend our TEDx event—where one of their own students took the stage with an inspiring speech, demonstrating the power of youth voices in shaping the future.They also got a glimpse into the region’s complex history and culture through a preview of our Balkan Studies sessions, led by Dženan Hakalović. The session sparked deep and meaningful discussions about the past and its influence on today’s world.This visit was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our collaboration, promote cross-cultural understanding, and share knowledge.
